We are a vibrant and interdisciplinary research group committed to deepening scientific understanding of the Himalayan cryosphere and alpine ecosystems, both critical and sensitive indicators of climate change. Our research focuses on a wide spectrum of interlinked themes, including:

  • Glacier and snow monitoring

  • Permafrost dynamics and rock glaciers

  • Cryosphere-related hazards

  • High-altitude ecosystem responses to environmental change

  • Climate–terrain–biodiversity interactions in fragile mountain landscapes

Under prevalent warming and growing anthropogenic pressures on the Himalaya, our work aims to produce science-based, actionable knowledge that informs policy, supports climate adaptation, and strengthens the resilience of mountain communities and ecosystems.

We welcome curious, passionate, and committed researchers, from early-career scientists to experienced specialists, who are eager to explore these remote and vulnerable environments. By joining us, you will contribute to cutting-edge research that bridges field science, remote sensing, geoinformatics, and policy engagement, with real-world impact on sustainable mountain development, disaster risk reduction, and environmental conservation.
