Dr. Khalid Omar's research and teaching interests revolve around Geoinformatics, Glacier Dynamics, Glacial-geomorphology and Land use/cover dynamics. His research interests include monitoring Himalayan Glaciers using state-of-the-art Earth observation data and ground observations under changing climate. He is currently working on glacial dynamics of Kashmir Himalayas employing remotely sensed data and extensive ground observations with special emphasis on glacier mass balance, glacier-geomorphology, and velocity estimations.
